All the Alphabet pages are done / Printing update

Hope you are fine and happy. 

I wanted to update you earlier, but past weeks have been even crazier than usual. I just moved to the studio where I work for the past 6 years, install it in a new home, went to Paris twice for work and one of them was to met Sting after a private concert in Patheon. If it makes you curious, I invite you to check my Instagram to know more. 

For the project, I went Maison & Objet Paris trade show, where L'atelier letterpress present their work. They will print the posters for the project and hope they will start soon. They have been busy on a project for Christo and Jeanne-Claude L’Arc de Triomphe Wrapped !!! Here are some photos of their booth there.

For the book, I am happy to say all the "Alphabet" pages are done now, I "just" have to work on the introduction presentation pages, and other things but so happy to have done this. It took me a lot of time to finish these as they are very few cities with U/V/W/X/Y/Z and it asks for a lot more research.

Book design update / Time to lock your orders

Time to lock your order

I will lock the orders tomorrow. It means you can not update what you order, BUT your address will be locked only a few weeks before shipping starts, so do not worry if you move, you will be able to update it. I need to lock this to counts all the items.

Thank you for all the orders of the postcards, it is another great success. I get a lot of requests for doing some more small prints but sadly it is more complicated, and 10 different ones is already a challenge.

Surveys are coming / Postcards collection & other items

Hello,

hope you are fine and safe. I just start sending the surveys from Backerkit, only a few of you get it to check if everything is fine. In the coming hours, I will send it to everyone. It will bring you to a page that looks like this.

Under the green button on the first page, you can "switch your pledge level" if you want to change from 1 book to a bundle of the book + prints for example. Warning: you can not come back when you change your pledge so if you take an early bird price, you may lose the special offer.

- Items you choose on Kickstarter will be directly in your "cart" and if you do not have to add anything, you have nothing to pay, just enter your address and information.

- It is the first time I use the Kickstarter add-ons so I hope this works smoothly with the backerkit system. If not please reach us at [email protected]

- For add-ons, I propose you a lot of items: all the items available during the campaign, but I also add new postcards and other items.

Stretch goals: 128 pages book and 4 postcards! 

As we reach these stretch goals, the book will be 128 pages and 4 postcards are included with each pledge. Please understand that you can not choose these postcards, they will be sent randomly. BUT, you can add other postcards as add-ons. The 4 postcards are automatically added to your pledge.

The postcards

My idea was to create some postcards... but I finally did 38 !!! There are so many cities I can not do as letterpress prints that they deserve a little extra. The postcards will be printed in 300g Munken paper, on both sides, and as they are in color I can include some more details in the design. 

So each postcard is available individually or as collections: West Coast, East Coast, Texas... Hope you like this idea.

The other items

As a lot of you discover my work with this project, I also include previous items as add-ons. You can add the small items without extra post costs and at a special price. Please consider everything will be sent together when the book and print are ready. 

Kevin Cantrell posters

Kevin is a creative I follow and admire for years. One of his project are posters inspired by the Sanborn Maps typography and I have a very few quantities available. The Luminares poster is just a masterpiece.

So take a look at your mailbox to fill your survey!

Thank you for making the Alphabet Cites Collection a reality. 

If you did not see the last updates on the project we unlock several targets :

- the book will be 128 pages

- I have design postcards. As there will be in colors, I included parts of the maps too. 4 postcards will be added to each pledge,  they will be sent randomly. They will also be available as add-ons on Backerkit.

What's next

We have to wait 2 weeks before something happens. Kickstarter takes 2 weeks to arrange the transfer of the funds. During this time I will be working on the Backerkit, the management platform which will help you and me! 

Backerkit will help you to complete the survey, you will be able to do the following

• specify all the upgrades you did
• add items or upgrades that you could not add during the campaign (same add-ons, same prices)
• enter a temporary shipping address
• fix the payment if it did not work with kickstarter

Hello, early birds,

it is always complicated and a little scary to have an idea and bring it to the world. Thanks to you you show me, again, that the world needs it. I will soon reveal stretch goals for the project but for now, I will just enjoy this first step, so thank you so much. 

And as, sadly, Kickstarter does not have an option to show large images (yet), I wanted to share these with you here: the 10 cities that will be available as small prints.
